Koh Samui is famous for its white-sand beaches fringed with coconut palms, for its thick jungle interior, for its diving waters and sea sports, and for the nearby Ang Thong Maritime Park with its limestone-fingered karsts and dark caves.

This national park comprises 42 islands spread over 102 sq.km and is home to a dizzying array of flora and fauna, whose nomenclature runs amok: there are spectacled langurs, hairy nosed otters, ashy drongos and butterfly fish!

Nearly every visitor to the island  - and not solely the lubricious - will visit "Hin Ta Hin Yai" - or "Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks". This is nature's graffiti at its finest.

The island is also home to many temples or "Wats" such as the gold-encrusted "Big Buddha", cascading jungle waterfalls, mummified monks, Thai boxing rings and camps, butterfly farms, tiger zoos, snake or crocodile farms and buffalo fighting rings...
