Hua Hin Villa
This modern holiday house is situated in 1,600 square metres of tropical gardens, between Hua Hin and Prachuab Khiri Khan, only a hundred metres from Phu Noi beach in the vicinity of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Marine Park.
Within the property's garden is a thirteen metre L-shaped swimming pool, complete with a shallow section for children.
The house has three air-conditioned bedrooms and a children's room, as well as a separate garden cottage that houses another bedroom and bathroom. As such, the villa can sleep up to ten, so is ideal for large families or groups of friends. Each bedroom is linked to an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower area, whilst the main bedroom also has a Jacuzzi. The bedrooms are equipped with a television, DVD player and safe.
The sunken, contemporary living room has tall windows with views out to the garden and swimming pool. This central space is air-conditioned, comfortably furnished in bright colours, and offers a 42 inch television with international satellite channels and a desktop computer.
The entire property enjoys wireless internet access, with no charges for connection.
The house kitchen is fully equipped, with a refrigerator, gas stove and hood, oven, microwave - and even an espresso machine. Full crockery and cutlery are supplied. A barbecue is also available should you wish to enjoy an outdoor meal, grilling fresh fish, crab, prawns or the catch of the day by the pool.
The villa provides two mountain bicycles for use by guests, and motorcycle hire may be arranged, as may the services of a car and driver.
The house is ideally placed to serve as a base to explore the sights of both Hua Hin, the traditional sea-side retreat of Thai nobility, and of Prachuap Khiri Khan, with its ecologically important coastal wetlands, countless hills and beaches. The destination appeals to families for its natural beauty and wide array of places to visit and things to do. Few people are aware that many scenes of Roland Joffé's "The Killing Fields" were filmed here, with Hua Hin standing in for the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh and the escape scenes from the killing fields with their mountain backdrops just a little way out of town.
The "300 peaks" national park comprises limestone mountains, cliffs and caves, and is home a wide selection of wildlife including crab-eating macaques, civet cats and flocks of colourful birds, including white egrets, painted storks and eagles.
Hua Hin's night market with its fresh seafood is a perennial attraction, and numerous seafood restaurants of every level line the streets of the town. You can watch the catch being brought in at the pier - and even negotiate for fresh oysters, crab or bright-eyed fish here! The town has 7 professional golf courses; horse-riding is available on the beach and elephant treks may also be organized; Thai boxing may be watched in the ring, and the beach itself offers an array of water sports including banana boats, jet skis, windsurfing and parasailing.
